Upcoming Council Meeting - February 2026
The next Ordinary Council Meeting will be held on Monday, March 3, 2026 at 5:30 PM at the Council Chambers. Members of the public are welcome to attend and participate in the public forum session.

Development
New Community Center Construction Begins
Great Victoria Desert Council is excited to announce the commencement of construction on the new East Side Community Center. This $8.5 million project will provide state-of-the-art facilities for our growing community.
The new center will feature:
Multi-purpose hall with capacity for 300 people
Meeting rooms and community spaces
Commercial-grade kitchen facilities
Youth activity areas and technology hub
Outdoor recreation spaces and gardens
The project is expected to be completed by December 2026. We thank the community for their patience during construction.

Annual Desert Festival Dates Announced
Save the date! The Great Victoria Desert Desert Festival will return this year on May 15-17, 2026. This three-day celebration of our unique culture, arts, and heritage promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Festival highlights include:

Live music performances from local and touring artists
Food and wine showcase featuring regional producers
Family activities and children's entertainment
Cultural ceremonies and storytelling sessions
